Pohon Pitis Mould, -

Description

The 'pohon pitis' or tin coin-trees of Kelantan were produced by the use of moulds adapted from those used by the Chinese to cast copper coins which were first introduced into Malay States from China during the Tang dynasty (A.D. 618 - 906).
